For many applications and more so domestic applications a linear power supply with a toroid transformer + fast diodes + low ESR electrolytivs will be a very good choice. They are easy to build for the DIY and safety issues are easier to handle as well, EMI and interference with the amplifier(s) is also much lower. We are happy to present a range of high performance switch mode power supplies , designed to power the class-d/pwm amplifiers and specially designed to pwm power audio amplifiers with its far from steady load. The switch mode power supplies also have comprehensive protection circuits , to protect the supply itself and the amplifier and finally the loudspeaker(s). The switch mode power supplies can be powered from 115/230V AC and we have a range of the for powering from 12VDC (ideally suited to high power and high performance CAR AUDIO).Some class-d amplifiers (specially self-oscillating half bridge types are very sensitive to power supply noise etc. and some of them will not work properly (or work at all) with a switch mode power supply.
